Nasa-funded study:  The civilized world is headed for collapse

http://www.theguardian.com/environment/earth-insight/2014/mar/14/nasa-civilisation-irreversible-collapse-study-scientists

"The fall of the Roman Empire, and the equally (if not more) advanced Han, Mauryan, and Gupta Empires, as well as so many advanced Mesopotamian Empires, are all testimony to the fact that advanced, sophisticated, complex, and creative civilizations can be both fragile and impermanent."

This is common sense, any student of history should know that the rise and fall of every nation, even America, is inevitable.  And it should be compulsory for every school student to study world history so that they learn the patterns and learn from the mistakes of our ancestors.

The authors of this study have taken a general truth, and a widely suspected truth, and used it to promote their own agenda.  What conclusions do they come to?

a) Our consumption of the world's limited resources is half the problem  (i.e. global warming caused by humans)
and:
b) inequality is the other half of the problem.

Yes, the growing gap between the rich and the poor and depleting our resources are both major problems.  But who was behind this study?  I suspect it was the governments and corporations themselves, and I suspect their answer to these problems is going to be more control of the common people.  What they don't explain in detail is how they have created that inequality themselves by printing money. Printing money is a legal way of stealing billions of dollars from the common people without them even realizing it.
